The NMEA 2000® Embedded Gateway allows you to achieve rapid deployment AND a robust implementation WITHOUT requiring you to spend time deciphering the NMEA 2000® standard. In fact, you may not even need to purchase the NMEA 2000® standard at all!

NMEA 2000® Embedded Gateway Standard Features

The NMEA 2000® Embedded Gateway comes with the following standard features:

  • Full implementation of all NMEA 2000® requirements and recommended features
  • Fully proven NMEA 2000® stack that has been used in multiple products
  • Device and System Instance programmability over the NMEA 2000® network using NMEA Command parameter group (PGN 126208) — supported by many configuration tools from multiple manufacturers as well as some displays
  • Configuration Information description string programmability over the NMEA 2000® network using NMEA Command parameter group (PGN 126208) — supported by many configuration tools from multiple manufacturers as well as some displays
  • Communication across the NMEA 2000® network via any available serial port using either of two communication methods:
    1. Standard Parameter Group data packet API
    2. Direct conversion into/from your product's existing data streams

NMEA 2000® Embedded Gateway Optional Features

The NMEA 2000® Embedded Gateway also comes with the following optional features:

  • Fully configurable using optional Configuration Label and Configuration Data Source parameter groups as appropriate
  • In band FLASH upgrades for both your product and/or the embedded gateway with a no-cost FLASH bootloader compatible with many NMEA 2000® gateways and CAN interfaces
